Minnesota Cup Page<\/a>\u00a0|\u00a0Video Highlights<\/a><\/strong><\/p>

Over a five-day stretch, the 2021 US Club Soccer Minnesota Cup saw its highly successful event double in size of participation from previous state cup tournaments. During the event held June 2-6, a total of 21 of 26 champions earned qualification for US Club Soccer\u2019s National Cup XX competition series.<\/p>

The state cup featured two levels of competition, Super Group (most competitive) and Premier Group. Minnesota State Cup directly qualified Super Group division champions from U-13 to U-18\/U-19 age groups to US Club Soccer\u2019s\u00a0National Cup XX Finals<\/strong><\/a>, taking place July 16-20, at Dick\u2019s Sporting Goods Park in Commerce City, CO. Premier Group division winners earned qualification to US Club Soccer\u2019s\u00a0National Cup XX Midwest Regional<\/a>, which was held in mid-June.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

St. Croix Soccer Club led the way of all competing clubs clinching six division winners. On the girls side, four of St. Croix\u2019s teams won titles in the U-13 Super, U-13 Premier, U-14 Super and U-16 Super groups. The two boys winners were in the U-15 Premier and U-19 Super groups.<\/p>

Minnesota Cup also featured some winners competing at both the National Cup XX and NPL Postseason levels.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

One of the winners included U-17 Girls Super Group champions Minnesota Thunder Academy 04G NPL Thorsell, who will be competing in the U-17 age group at NPL Finals this weekend in Colorado. Additionally, Lakeville SC 2006 Boys \u2013 Selects, who competed in last week\u2019s NPL Boys West Playoffs, won the U-15 Boys Super Group to earn direct qualification for National Cup XX.<\/p>
